Katrina plus four

The Institute for Public Accuracy features grassroots voices from the Gulf Coast:

One out of three New Orleans addresses is still unoccupied, yet the city received the least federal stimulus dollars of any district in the nation, says Chris Kromm of the Institute for Southern Studies.  The Institute is releasing the results of a survey of Gulf Coast groups grading the Obama administration on Katrina rebuilding issues.

“On-the-job protections and safety are at an all-time low as employers are using the recovery as an excuse to ignore labor laws,” says Jaribu Hill of the Mississippi Workers Center for Human Rights.

Other sources include Advocates for Environmental Human Rights, Greater New Orleans Organizers Roundtable, and Moving Forward Gulf Coast.
