Orchard Village
Orchard Village is a private non-profit organization supporting over 300 men, women, and children with developmental disabilities. Headquartered in Skokie, the agency offers community integrated services that are both supportive and challenging, to men, women, seniors, and families that have a loved one with a developmental disability. OV is not a programmatically focused organization; rather it is unique in its philosophy of providing person centered planning. OV uses 25 personal outcomes as a guide to explore each individual’s own priorities and wishes. OV considers its support successful when each individual achieves outcomes they have chosen for themselves. In 2004, The Council on Quality and Leadership granted Orchard Village a Three Year Accreditation with Distinction, its highest level of accreditation. Fewer than 7% of organizations surveyed receive this level of accreditation.
