Youth Service Project, Inc.
Begun in 1975 in the basement of St. Philomena’s Church, YSP’s initial programming responded to community concerns about the impact of drugs on youth in the Humboldt Park neighborhood. Two years later, YSP officially gained non-profit status. Since that time, YSP has defined itself by its ability to see the potential power and the existing assets of the young people and community it serves, while providing appropriate interventions and treatment for the challenges that youth face.
Youth Service Project, Inc. is dedicated to creating a nurturing environment that promotes self-awareness, accountability and respect. By identifying and providing educational and supportive resources, YSP strives to enhance the quality of life for youth, families and the community.
